Black History Month: African Americans and the Arts

The Kansas City Kansas Community College Learning Commons is excited to announce a series of events celebrating Black History Month. In 1926, Carter G. Woodson founded the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH). Their mission is to promote, research, preserve, interpret, and disseminate information about Black life, history, and culture to the global community. The 2024 theme of the 98th annual Black History Month is “African Americans and the Arts.” To participate in and observe Black History Month, the Learning Commons is hosting events and highlighting a wide variety of resources.
