Welcome Blues Devils!

The Learning Commons is a shared space where students are able to access and utilize technology, tutoring, and collaboration areas.  Study rooms, computers, academic resources, and professional employees are available to support the KCKCC academic community. The Dean of Academic Support & Assessment, Office of Assessment, Learning Services, KCKCC Library, and Online Education Services are all housed in the Learning Commons.

Meet our Leaders

Ceclilia Brewer, Dean

Cecelia Brewer, Dean of Academic Support and Assessment

Cecelia Brewer joined KCKCC as Dean of Academic Support and Assessment in fall 2018.  This division contains: the Center for Teaching Excellence, the Office of Assessment, Honors and Phi Theta Kappa, Learning Commons, and Online Education Services.  Prior to her arrival at KCKCC, she worked for over 20 years in higher education as an administrator and faculty member; consistently devoting her energy to the success of all students.

Amanda Williams

Dr. Amanda Williams, Director of the Learning Commons

Dr. Williams possesses over 20 years’ experience in higher education. She holds a Ph.D. in Human Capital Management from Bellevue University, Master’s in Counseling and Guidance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and a Bachelor’s degree from Pittsburg State University.  She currently provides leadership for Learning Services and the KCKCC Library. Her areas of expertise are academic support, co-curricular assessment, employee engagement, performance management, project management, and student retention. Dr. Williams is also a proud member of the Blue Devil teaching faculty. She has been an Adjunct Professor since 2009 and enjoys teaching courses in Psychology and the Honor’s Education program.
